Another One Down!'s "A Bitter Descent" is everything we needed this Fall

Updated: Nov 24, 2021

Rhode Island pop punk band Another One Down! released their full length album Friday, November 5th. This release has been been very anticipated since they released their first single in connection with the album "Sulk" in December 2019. After 4 total singles released between late 2019 and October 2021, its safe to say that fans were on the edge of their seat by the time the album came.

Another One Down! does an excellent job tapping into the nostalgia that comes with pop punk for a lot of listeners; Every song on this 12 piece album feels familiar upon the first listen. Its the kind of album that serves as a perfect soundtrack to a chilly New England fall.

Between vibrant guitar tone and the absolutely crisp vocals of lead singer Marcus Simonini, its almost impossible not to bop along by the third or fourth song. With perfect shout-alone-in-your-car lyrics likes "I need space to clear my head, and erase every word you said!!" (Headspace) and "if you were to up and leave, I would understand" (Chump Charity), yelling along to this album is more than cathartic.

Another One Down! is one of those bands that makes you fall in love with pop punk again, and I think this this album might have very quickly made it on my personal Album Of The Year List.
